Nayanthara's Anaamika has lot of hype surrounding its release, the movie is a remake of the critically acclaimed blockbuster Kahaani
which featured Vidya Balan. The movie has however been in headlines
lately for all the wrong reasons. Numerous sources have speculated a
fall-out between director Shekar Kammula and the actress Nayan after the
latter failed to attend the film's audio launch.
The Director who spoke at the audio launch openly said "I am angry with Nayanthara as she did not attend this audio launch". Sources also add that “Director
Sekhar Kammula wanted some dates from Nayantara to shoot the
promotional song, but the actress couldn’t give any. Later, the director
went ahead and shot the promotional song of the movie, Kshanam Kshanam, with popular singer Sunitha. The video has given more screen space to the singer than the lead actress. Apparently, this irked Nayantara."
Shekar Kammula in an interview to Deccan Chronicle answered diplomatically stating “I
think it’s her philosophy and she stands by it. It’s not only this
movie that she has not promoted. She has been doing that for a while.”
When asked if Nayantara was angry about Sunitha getting more screen space in the video, he says, “No, there is nothing like that. In fact, it is a lot like what happens in Hollywood movies. For example in Titanic, singer Celine Dion features prominently in the theme song. Similarly here. I absolutely had no issues with Nayantara.”
