Simbu confirms his relationship status

 
Finally the story comes to an end. The news that has been murmured in media circles in the past few weeks have come in the open. Actor Simbu has officially announced the break-up of his love relationship with his Vaalu and Vettaimannan co-star Hansika.
Excerpts from the tweet of the young actor announcing his current relationship status: “I had gone through enough in this relationship and after much of thoughts invested into this I hereby declare that I am single now and I have nothing to do whatsoeverwith Hansika.
This announcement is also made only to give clarity to my friends, associates and fans over my status. As of now I am concentrating on my career and needless to say I am happy and relieved too!!!”
Simbu and Hansika confirmed that they are seeing each other last year. All things were going well until Nayanthara, Simbu’s ex-lover was cast opposite the actor in the film directed by Pandiraj. Ever since there has been reports now and then claiming that Simbu and Hansika are heading for a break up.
But the couple brushed aside the rumors by celebrating the Birthday of Simbu on February 3 and updating the photo in which they were seen hugging each other in social networking sites.
In the following week Simbu confirmed in an interview to a leading journal that he is still in love with Hansika. However on Velentine’s day situations turned awry.
Hansika’s tweet claiming that she is celebrating the Valentine with her ‘Single’ friends, revamped the speculations about the break-upr and Hansika in a recent interview had stated that she will speak about her relationship with Simbu at the appropriate time.
Now Simbu seems to have taken the lead in bringing the curtains down.

Vikram to introduce something new in ‘AI’

 
Its is not new for Vikram to select altogether different characters and different looks suiting the character he undertakes. But In his upcoming mega budget film Ai directed by Shankar, the Chiyaan is doing something new.
In Ai, Vikram is appearing in many looks. For every get up, the perfectionist in this National award winning actor took time for training before starting the shoot. It is said that he underwent so much pain to bring the slim and sleek look which is one of the various getups in the film.
Now the dubbing for the film is underway and Vikram is going to dub with a different voice for every get up.
This is not so difficult for the Anniyan actor, since he has been working as a dubbing artiste before becoming a Star hero, and has dubbed for many films through which he has acquired mimicking skills. This unknown talent of Vikram is going to be put into use for the first time in AI.
AI is being produced by Ascar films V.Ravichandran. Amy Jackson plays the lead lady role opposite Vikram. A.R.Rahman scores the music and P.C.Sreeram cranks the camera.

Sivakarthikeyan to join hands once again with Sri Divya

 
The film Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam had Sivakarthikeyan and Sri Divya in the lead roles. This pair was much spoken about. This film was also a great hit.
After this film, Sri Divya got lots of offers. She is currently pairing with G V Prakash, Vishnu, Vidharth and Jai. Sivakarthikeyan is currently pairing with Hansika in the film Maan Karate.
Director Senthil Kumar who had earlier directed Sivakarthikeyan starrer Ethir Neechal is directing his second film which has Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role.
Sivakarthikeyan is donning the role of a police official in this film which has been titled Daana. Sri Divya is pairing with Sivakarthikeyan in this film. Dhanush is producing the film.

After Jilla, Vijay is donning the lead role in the film directed by A R Murugadoss. For the first time, Samantha is pairing with Vijay in this film.
Anirudh is composing the music while George C Williams is handling the camera. The shooting of this film which began in Kolkata is now taking place in rapid pace at Rajahmundry.
Bengali actor Tota Rai is donning the role of villain. There was news that Bengali actor Tota Rai has revealed the story as well as about his role. Director A R Murugadoss has denied this news.
A R Murugadoss while speaking about this said, “Tota Rai is one of the villain of this film. He is not donning the role of the main villain. There is no truth in the news that he has revealed about the story and his role. Even if he had mentioned, that is not the story of the film.”

Vijay and Murugadoss to fly to Hyderabad

 
After Jilla, Vijay is donning the lead role in a film directed by A R Murugadoss.
Anirudh is composing the music while George C Williams is handling the camera. The first schedule shooting of this film took place in Kolkata and the second schedule shooting took place in Chennai.
At this juncture, the third schedule shooting of the film will be taking place in Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. The set replicating Rajahmundry prison has been erected at Ramoji Film City.
The sequence where the villain Tota Roy Chowdary will be escaping the prison and Vijay’s action sequences are to be shot here. The shooting of the film will be taking place for 30 days.
Initially it was decided to shoot the sequences in the real prison located in Rajahmundry. Because of the Telangana crisis it has been decided to change the location.
A R Murugadoss who saw the portions of Vijay and Samantha dance sequences shot in Chennai was very highly impressed.
For the first time Samantha was sharing the screen with Vijay in this film. Satish of Ethir Neechal fame is taking care of the comedy tracks.

Hansika speaks of marriage; hints at ditching Simbu

Hansika has said that she would get married at the appropriate time as per her mother’s suggestions.
By invoking her mother’s name who had been opposing Hansika’s affair with Simbu from the very beginning, Hansika is said to have given the clearest yet indication of ditching Simbu.
The print and television media had all along been speculating that the affair won’t stand the test of time and would soon come to an end.
Simbu and Hansika, on their part, had been giving fodder to the press by saying their own versions of the love affair which had become the ‘talk of the town’ in Kollywood in the past few months.
Simbu said only recently that Hansika was his ‘ladylove’ while Nayan was his ‘friend’. Simbu’s decision to re-unite with Nayanthara (on-screen, of course!) for Pandiraj’s Idhu Namma Aalu was seen as the ‘beginning of the end’ of his love-affair with Hansika.
On the other hand, Hansika recently tweeted on Valentine’s Day that she was very much ‘single’ in her life.
“Fans ask me about my marriage….it wasn’t my decision to turn an actress when I was just 15. Likewise, it’s not in my hands to decide about my marriage which would happen when I and my mother feel the appropriate time has come for it.
I have as many as 10 projects in various languages and would think about marriage when I complete all my assignments,” she says.

Susi Ganeshan produces films in Tamil, Marathi and Hindi

 
Susi Ganeshan, who disappeared from Tamil film industry soon after the release of his last Tamil directorial venture Kanthaswamy which released in screens in 2009, moved to Bollywood where he remade his Tamil hit film Thiruttu Payale as Shortcut Romeo in Hindi in 2013.
Susi debuted as director in Tamil with the Prasanna-sterrer Five Star and has directed only four films in Tamil with the Prashanth-Sneha starrer Virumbigiren being his other film.
After more than five years, he has now come back to Tamil films not as a director but as a producer. In a press communiqué, he has detailed his future plans. Despite the failure of Shortcut Romeo, Susi is directing another film in Hindi at present.
He produces a Tamil film which stars debutant Dulquer Salmaan, son of Malayalam megastar Mammootty, as the hero. He isn’t directing the film but is only producing it. He is also producing Kalavaani in Marathi and Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam in Hindi.
“There is a similarity between the three films I’m producing in three languages: all these films have comedy as its backbone. I plan to release these films within this year.
I’m also trying to rope in Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan to essay Sathyaraj’s role in the Hindi version of Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam. If I can accomplish it, I shall be extremely happy,” he said.

‘AI’ eyeing a summer release

 
Director Shankar and Chiyaan Vikram are working day and night to release their magnum opus Ai as a summer release. It is said that the ace director known for his hard work has started the post production works while the last leg of shooting is underway. The team is planning to wrap-up the shoot within the end of March.
Meanwhile Vikram, on his part has completed dubbing for the first half and will start dubbing for the second once the shoot is completed, as per reliable sources.
It seems Shankar will leave no stone unturned to hit the release deadline.

After the stupendous success of Veeram, Ajith will be acting in a film to be directed by Gautham Menon. This will be Ajith’s first film with Gautham Menon. Ajith himself has come forward to give a helping hand to Gautham who is now in a financial crunch.

After the unexpected debacle there is some good news for this young and talented actress, for she has been selected to pair up with actor Vijay Sethupathi in the film Idam Porul Eval which is going to be directed by Seenu Ramasamy.
Earlier it was reported that Manisha will be pairing up with Dhanush in the film that is going to be directed by Vetrimaran after the National award winning film Aadukalam.
But it was immediately refuted by the director’s stable. However Manisha has got an equally coveted offer since Vijay Sethupathi is one of the leading heroes in K-town and also performance oriented and Seenu Ramasamy is a National award winner.

Sivakarthikeyan follows Rajini formula

 
After three successive hits anchor turned actor Siva Karhikeyan has become the darling of producers and distributors. For Sivakarthikeyan’s success streak, there is some unique trade related reason.
As per sources Siva Karthikeyan has laid down a condition to his producers and distributors and accepts the offer only if that condition is agreed upon. Siva’s condition is that the price of the theatrical release of his current film should be determined only based on the budget of that film and not on the collections made by his previous film.
For example, Varuthapadadha Valibar Sangam collected 26 crores but Siva Karhkeyan’s next film which was made with Rs.12 crores has been sold only for Rs.13 crores. By following this principle the Marina actor feels that no one associated with his films business will have to suffer losses and his belief has proven to be true.
Interestingly Siva Karthikeyan has taken cue from his Thalaivar Superstar Rajnikanth who followed the same principle to rise as the Super star.

Simran To Pair Up With Kamal Hassan In Drishyam Remake?

 
Kamal Hassan and Simran, who was considered as one of the hot jodis of Kollywood, seem to be ready to work again. They are likely to come together in the remake of Malayalam film Drishyam.
Rumours are rife that the makers of the film wanted to cast Simran and expressed the same to Kamal Hassan. The Universal Star gave green signal for their idea. But it is not sure whether the actress has accepted the offer to play the female lead, which was portrayed by Meena in the original.
Kamal Hassan and Simran had earlier worked in the films like Pammal K Sambandham and Panchathanthiram. More than their films, they had hit gossip columns over their alleged affair. Many tabloids had regularly written about their relationship.

Fahadh and I have been childhood friends, reveals Nazriya

 
Actress Nazriya Nazim, who is scheduled to get married to Mollywood actor Fahadh Faasil on 21st August, has said that she had known Fahadh since her childhood days. Fahadh and Nazriya got engaged a couple of weeks back.
Son of popular Tamil and Malayalam film-maker Faasil, Fahadh is all set to make his acting debut in Tamil in a film to be directed by ace film-maker Mani Ratnam. Fahadh and Nazriya are presently starring as on-screen pair in an upcoming Malayalam film titled Bangalore Days (which was earlier titled as ‘L’ for Love).
Speaking to newsmen recently in Trivandrum, Nazriya said “I know Fahadh ever since my childhood; our families are very close to each other. Still, it’s not a love marriage but an arranged marriage. I am not meant for films; I love being in a family set-up and hate days on which I stay away from my family.
“Family life always takes precedence over films as far as I’m concerned. I haven’t yet decided whether to continue to act in films after marriage. The wedding has been fixed to be held in August only to enable me to complete the pending assignments,” concludes Nazriya.
It may be recalled that Fahadh had earlier said that Nazriya was at liberty to decide to continue to act in films even after marriage.

Name of Samantha in Anjaan revealed

 
Samantha is one of the busiest actresses in the Tamil and Telugu film industries. In Tamil, she is acting with two top actors simultaneously. She is pairing with Surya in Anjaan directed by Lingusamy and she is also pairing with Vijay in a film which is being directed by A R Murugadoss. This film is yet to be titled.
The shooting of Anjaan commenced in Mumbai and is going in top gear. Now Samantha’s character name has been revealed. She is donning the role called Jeeva.
Jeeva was the late cinematographer who had worked as an assistant to ace cinematographer Santhosh Sivan. It is understood that Samantha’s role has been named in memory of him. The film which is being produced in Tamil and Telugu languages will hit the screens on 15th August.

After Chandramukhi, director P Vasu will be directing a film titled Aishwaryavum Aayiram Kaakkavum which will have Aishwarya Rai in an important role. After the stupendous success of Rajnikanth starrer Chandramukhi, P Vasu was penning the script for his next film for the last two and half years.
P Vasu who is well known for his emotional films laced with comedy in his next film will have startling visual effects. This will be an animatronics film. This film has been titled Aishwaryavum Aayiram Kaakkavum.
Aishwarya Rai will be donning a powerful role in this film. Major visual effects companies are being considered. Animatronics expert from France are being hired for the visual effects in the film, which will be shot in exotic locales of North Indian and some important portions in Cambodia.
Leading technicians will be working in this film. Since there are lots of fighting sequences for Aishwarya Rai in this film, she will undergo training for the same. Two leading heroes will be pairing with Aishwarya Rai in this film. This film which is being made in Tamil and Telugu is being produced by K Ramesh under the banner Global One Studios.

Fell In Love With Hyderabad…
Hyderabad is a well sculpted. From the airport to the hotel… Roads wonderfully laid, clean, spacious… It reminds me of Delhi. I am here for promoting the film now. But I wish I get an opportunity to visit again and again. I am a super foodie and the first thing I do is taste any city’s food as I step in. I have tasted Biryani here and its delicious. Couldn’t go out a lot coz of my promotions but as and when I get a chance, I will have a city tour.
Me The YRF Prodigy…
It was a marathon audition process for me before I was chosen for the SDR role. Did several auditions in general, then for the particular movie, for the role before cracking it. Even for this film, I was called on by Aditya Chopra who thought there is a connect between Shruti and me and if I could learn the language, I am the girl. So, I had auditioned for this role too.
Yes, I Am Shruti…
I was never worried about the character since deep down, I knew that I am like Shruti myself. The psyche, the conduct, the zeal and the focus… everything is like me. Just one difference that I am more laid back. So, I had to raise the energy levels in myself to play the role. My biggest task was mastering the language and two, keeping the energy levels of Shruti throughout.
Anushka Is A Great Performer…
I don’t compare myself with Anushka Sharma coz each actor has her own expression, demeanor and portrayal of the role. I respect her a lot coz she is a fabulous actress herself. But I had my own way of presenting the character. If people find similarities, it might be coz it’s the same movie, same role. But I wish they watch it for me not to compare with the original.
Me, The Question Bank…
I always got frustrated when I didn’t get my line right and agitated. They were all feeling it funny and my director was a cool guy, smiled and patiently said its okay, cool down you will get it. And my questions on the sets were legendary. I used to bombard everyone with lots and lots of them. They always looked at me at me weirdly wondering if I were a question bank or a quiz master.
Gokul Is The Sweetest…
Director is the sweetest person on the sets, at the same time very clear and focused. He was so very patient and waited for the output till he got it.
Aha Kalyanam, A Full Meals…
The movie has shaped up very well. We all worked very hard and with all honesty. The music is quite successful here and getting lot of appreciation. Even in the movie, the music will play a huge role. Be it the tracks or the visuals will rock the theater. You will feel the strong chemistry between me and Nani.
Dharani, The Composer…
Dharan gave fantastic tracks for the film, much hummable, lovable songs, all of them. I love the entire album with a special liking for the romantic and Punch numbers.
Shruti Is Me…
Shruti is a focused and determined girl, knows exactly what she wants to do in life. There is a fun side to her too but her over all persona is business-like, an achiever. Enter Shakthi in her life, it changes big time and how both try to reach their goals but in the journey, come close and fall in love.
Nani Is Chilled Out…
Nani is a level headed and chilled out guy. Knows what he wants and has no airs or tantrums of a ‘Star’ and is instantly loved by everyone around. I couldn’t watch his films but for some bits and pieces of ‘Eega’.
Vani-Nani…
There are several moments during production where in me and Nani bullied each other much like a Tom n Jerry show and I think they are composing them as bloopers in the end scrolls.
Yes, I Lip-Locked… So What …?
I am a professional actor and Lip lock is just another scene for me. We portrayed the romance, how people in love behave, move with each other outside. So, no qualms about it. If the script demanded it I would do it. I think we are moving towards the real cinema and Kiss is just a part of it.
Rumors Will Stay, I Move…
I take the rumours in my stride and move on. The more attention I pay, it becomes bigger. People will create them as long as I am acting. So, don’t care about them and focus on my work.
I Love The Lunch Breaks Here…
I didn’t see much difference in the work culture in Hindi or South. Both are professional, I loved both the teams, co-actors, crew members and I am fortunate to have landed up with such great teams. One difference I notice is, in South, they take Lunch breaks. In Hindi, I didn’t get any…

I am in touch with my team and they are happy with me. They think I made Shruti come alive and I wish the audience will feel the same too. We are all waiting for the release.

I don’t have any dream roles as such but wish to do different genres of films to understand and portray the roles I do. It is well known that Ilayathalapathi Vijay’s upcoming film with A.R.Murugdoss is fastly progressing and recently a song has been shot in Chennai Airport. The team got the permission to shoot in the much guarded International terminal after trying with the help of some influential people.
As stated in some sections of media, Vijay will act in a dual role in this film. While the current schedule is being shot with the role of Vijay sporting his usual hairstyle, Murugdoss has roped in a popular Bollywood hairstylist to design a new kind of hairstyle to show case Vijay in a different get up for his second role in the film.
The untitled flick is produced by Lyca entertainments and young lass Samantha is pairing up with Vijay for the first time.

Sidharth who worked as an Assitant to Director Mani Ratnam in the film Aayudha Ezhuthu has not plans to wear the director’s hat any sooner. Then why the title?

As per sources SIdharth may be directing the Pannaiyarum Padmnium not in reality but in his upcoming film Jigarthanda, directed by Karthik Subbaraj.

In the film Siddharth has acted as an aspiring film-maker and Vijay Sethupathi acts has himself in an extended cameo.

Lakshmi Menon has paired up with SIdharth in the film and she acts as a college student.

Vishwaroopam 2 release postponed

 

The release of Kamal Haasan starrer Vishwaroopam is being postponed. The shooting of the film has been completed and it was mentioned that the film will be released this month.

The film could not be completed because the post-production works of the film is yet to be completed. In between, there was also announcement that Rajnikanth starrer Kochadaiyaan will be released on 11th April.

Hence the distributors have requested Kamal not to release this film on the same date. They have also mentioned that the film should be released even after a week time.

This request was made because if the films of the two big heroes are released there will some problems in the box-office collections. Hence the film Vishwaroopam 2 will not be released even next month. It is expected that the film will be released during the month of May.

This Director Decides not to cheat with Nayanthara

The trailer of Nayanthara's Nee Enge En Anbe fetched some rave reviews and added more buzz to the movie. Kahaani, the original version of the film had Vidya Balan playing a pregnant lady but Nayan in the remake version is not a pregnant woman. Explaining the change Director Sekhar Kammula said 

"Though Kahaani was a brilliant script, the pregnant character in the film had a 'cheat element', which I didn't like. The audience would watch the film trusting that the woman was pregnant and we would have to break their trust in the end. As a creator, I don't want to cheat the audience with something that is not true.Nayanthara's character and the climax in the remake version will be real. 

The crux of the story will remain the same. Nayanthara has performed well in the natural character that we have created."

Actress cum Singer Andrea Jeremiah in a popular show on Vijay Tv said Marrying an actor is worst thing. The current trend in industry seems to be getting married to someone from within in the industry but Andrea had a different opinion of sorts.

Andrea said "Please, marrying an actor is the worst thing. But, it's true, I have to say it. It is very difficult to be married to an actor. So I think all the wifes of actors, hats off. Truly, they are all rockstars. I would never marry an actor. 100 percent, NO WAY."

Andrea further revealed that she would like to marry an Indian settled in London and settle down with him there.

Karthik is Ajith’s villain in Menon’s untitled film

 
One of the most popular heroes of yesteryear, Karthik, is turning villain nowadays. Karthik, who held his own against the likes of superstar Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan in their heydays in the eighties and nineties, has acted in more than 100 films as hero.
Of late, though, he appears to be in the mood to try out various kinds of roles. He has already committed to play Dhanush’s villain in K.V. Anand’s Anegan.
He now plays Ajith’s villain in the latter’s upcoming film to be directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. After the successful Veeram, Ajith joins hands with Menon amid reports which say that Ajith volunteered to work in Menon’s film so as to help him out of his financial mess. This would be Ajith’s first film with Gautham Menon and would be produced by A.M. Rathnam.
Ajith would be dyeing his hair black and won’t have the ‘salt-and-pepper’ look which he sported with aplomb in Arrambam and Veeram. The Menon-Ajith film is to be made sleek and stylish and would feature many talented technicians from Hollywood right from make-up artistes to stunt choreographers. Menon is also planning to hold the entire shooting schedule in U.S.
Karthik and Ajit have starred together in the past; though Karthik has essayed roles with ‘grey’ shades, this would be the first time he plays a full-fledged villain’s role.
In Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen where Karthik played the hero, Ajith appeared in a ‘guest role’ and Karthik returned the compliment in Ananda Poongaatre where Ajith played the hero. Both these films, however, released more than a decade back.

‘Goli Soda’ creates a record

 
Within three weeks of it release, Goli Soda a film made at a shoe-string budget has collected Rs.8 crores in Tamilnadu state alone and Kollywood trade circles report this as a new record in collections.
This huge commercial success of Goli Soda has been identified as the necessary respite for small budget films that often fail to hold ground in the wake of big budget films with star value, flooding the market.
Goli Soda is the film directed by Cinematographer Vijay Milton after a gap of 8 years. The film captivated the audience belonging to all classes mainly due to Milton’s relatable script ably supported by the dialogues written by Director Pandiraj.
The fantastic response, the film had garnered was evident when the number of screens showing the film was considerably increased after the film’s release. The film that had adolescents who debuted as child artists in the National award winning film Pasanga was well appreciated by the critics also.
Director N.Lingusamy’s production company Tirupathi Brothers distributed Goli Soda and that may be cited as one of the major contributors for the film’s success. The other small budget films with good content, that released last year without the backing of such a famous banner have failed in the box office despite being appreciated by fans and critics.

Why Deepika was replaced by Priyanka to play Vijay’s heroine?

 

There is a news making rounds for a couple of days in Kollywood thanks to a ‘scoop’ carried out by some Tamil website. The ‘news’ has been reproduced in many websites and shared in social media by many. It has made some sensational revelations and has awed the Tamil film-lovers.

The ‘news’ goes like this: Chimbu Devan. the director of one of Vijay’s forthcoming projects, had reportedly approached Bollywood hottie Deepika Padukone to star in the film. However, Chimbu was taken aback by the fee demanded by Deepika.

It is said that the actress demanded Re.1 crore per day. The news further says that Deepika didn’t even hear out the script but was reportedly very particular that her demand for money is met by the producer. For her role in Kochadaiiyaan, Deepika shot for not more than three days but got an awesome sum of Rs.3 crores.

Chimbu then decided to approach Priyanka, who debuted as heroine in films opposite Vijay in Thamizhan more than a decade back, who listened to the script and agreed to star in it. Priyanka’s fee was also reasonable (rather affordable!) and the crew was more than happy to replace Deepika with Priyanka.

However, there is another dimension to this story. Some analysts point out that the rate has been derived through Kochadaiiyaan experience and that it could not be applied to regular film. Kochadaiiyaan, being an animation film, would require short term call sheet while a regular film would require bulk dates ranging from 30 to 50 days.

So, they argue, the story of one crore per day could not be applicable to any regular film. It is a piece of imagination by the website reporter, they say.

So, one might conclude that Deepika’s non participation could be due to any other reason than the salary. But the buzz has put hot heroine’s name in hot spot in Kollywood for the past few days.

Vijay is planning to star simultaneously in A.R. Murugadoss’ Vaal (Sword) and Chumbu Devan’s film. In all probability, Chimbu’s Vijay-starrer is to go to floors only in July.

Karthi to pair up with another hit director

 

 

After a three consecutive failures Karthi joined handa with director Venkat Prabhu who ensured a success for the star through his comedy based suspense thriller Biriyani. Now Karthi is working with Ranjith in a film titled Kaali.

This is the second film of the young director after delivering a super hit in Attakathi. And apart from this the younger son of veteran actor Sivakumar has not officially committed himself to any other project.

However some unconfirmed soruces state that Karthi Is all set to join Vishnuvardhan after completing Kali. Currently Karthi is discussing the script with the Arrambam director and the script is expected to be finalized soon.

Sources also say that Vishnuvardhan is keen on taking Karthi’s lucky heroine Tamanna on board to pair up with Karthi for the third time. Tamanna and Karthi have paired up earlier in Payya and Siruthai and both the films were super hits.

Will Karthi get to work with a super hit director for the third consecutive time? We will have to wait for an official confirmation.
